This autumn, The Hague and Westland will introduce a brand-new major running event. On Sunday 1 November 2026, Marathon The Hague will make its debut. The first edition of Marathon The Hague will take place as the sporting highlight of a full event weekend in the city, adding an exciting new autumn moment to the Dutch running calendar.
Olympic champion and former elite sailor Marit Bouwmeester is ambassador of Marathon The Hague and is enthusiastic about the inaugural edition. “Sport brings people together, and The Hague is the perfect setting for that. I’m proud to be involved as an ambassador in a new event that inspires so many people to get moving,” says Bouwmeester.

- Business 10 km is intended for colleagues who participate together as a company in the 10 km race.
- Business Relay Marathon is a popular team event in which four colleagues jointly complete the full marathon distance as a relay.
- Marathon4ALL is designed for participants with a physical or mental disability who complete the 1 km course in an alternative way. This can be done by running, walking, or using an aid such as a wheelchair, handbike or running bike.
